Basketball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Comes Up Short

Woodcrest Christian lost against Ontario Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Woodcrest Christian Royals were beaten by the Ontario Christian Knights 86-38. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

Woodcrest Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Madden Anderson and Joseph Abraham. Anderson posted eight points, while Abraham scored four points. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in boards (four).

Leading Ontario Christian to victory were Cole Jones and Mason Salazar. Jones went 9 of 15 en route to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists, while Salazar went 8 for 10 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aj Neale, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and three blocks.

Woodcrest Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Ontario Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

Woodcrest Christian has already played their next contest (against Arrowhead Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ontario Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 victory against Alta Loma on the 31st.
