This season hasn't been kind to the Calhoun Red Devils, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Point Pleasant on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Calhoun came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Point Pleasant is ranked 290th).
Point Pleasant can attribute much of their success to McKenna Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Young pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Tolliver, who scored 12 points.
Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Point Pleasant, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
