The Douglass Eagles can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They blew past Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South 67-44. Winning may never get old, but Douglass sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Douglass found their leader in underclassman Courtney Smith, who scored 17 points. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times she's played. Mya Ford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South still got an impressive performance from Amaya Johnson, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cayla Wiley, who scored 11 points.
Douglass is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Douglass will head out on the road to challenge the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Surrattsville will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
