Baseball Recap: Red Lion Christian Academy Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Red Lion Christian Academy entered their tilt with Glasgow on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Dragons 10-0. Considering the Lions have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dom Liguori and Brayden Redmond made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Liguori tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Redmond struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. At the plate, Liguori went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Redmond went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Liguori's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chandler Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Jude Collins was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Red Lion Christian Academy's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Glasgow, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Lion Christian Academy will head out to face off against Concord at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.6, the Raiders 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Glasgow, they are taking a road trip to challenge MOT Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dragons are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
