The Bellaire Big Reds will head out on the road to face off against the Shenandoah Zeps at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellaire has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
Bellaire fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Tigers on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 75-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (56), Bellaire still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Mac Pettigrew, who scored 49 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Maurice Webb was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, even though Caldwell scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Shenandoah still came out on top. Shenandoah narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Redskins 60-58. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but Shenandoah was the better team in the second half.
Bellaire's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Shenandoah, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
