West Carrollton is 8-2 against Piqua since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The West Carrollton Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Piqua Indians at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
West Carrollton suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairborn by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Piqua's game on Tuesday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stebbins. While losing is never fun, Piqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while Stebbins is ranked 228th).
West Carrollton bumped their record down to 5-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Piqua, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
West Carrollton beat Piqua 43-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Carrollton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
