The Coral Reef Barracudas will take on the East Ridge Knights in a tournament on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Coral Reef made easy work of Osceola and carried off a 7-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Barracudas have won by exactly six runs.

Quinley Wylie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Avery Clegg was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, East Ridge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 16-6.
Allie McCleary was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Sydney Ralstin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
East Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
East Ridge's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coral Reef, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coral Reef hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like East Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coral Reef suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to East Ridge when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will the Barracudas have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
