It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bucklin Red Aces ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Hodgeman County 49-46. The win was nothing new for Bucklin as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leading Bucklin to victory were Karlee Evans and Emmerson Kirk. Evans scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Kirk scored 17 points. Kirk continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Morgan Ruff and Taylor Bamberger certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ruff scored 12 points along with five assists, while Bamberger scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Kylee Reece was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Bucklin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Hodgeman County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bucklin will take on Spearville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spearville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hodgeman County, they will head out on the road to face off against Kiowa County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
