If the Goodrich Hornets were riding high off their 56-6 takedown of the Burkeville Mustangs two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Goodrich took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chester on Tuesday. Goodrich was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chester apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Chester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydney Brock led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Abby Grimes was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Goodrich's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-12. As for Chester, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Goodrich will head out on the road to face off against Leggett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leggett is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Chester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Zavalla at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
