The Valley Falls Dragons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Onaga, falling 65-22. Valley Falls was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.
Valley Falls' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Zac Evans, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Grant Meyer was in the mix too, providing Valley Falls with two touchdowns.
Valley Falls' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-7 Onaga and 3-6 Oskaloosa (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.7% over those games). As for Onaga, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.
Valley Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Onaga also has no future games currently scheduled.
