Tri-Eastern recap October 22, 2013
Northeastern and Union City played the most contested game in Tri-Eastern this week, with Northeastern eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory. Joey Claypoole threw for 115 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 63 yards during the win.
Winchester took down Centerville 47-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kiante Enis ran for 201 yards in the win.
The Knights' dynamic duo of Claypoole and Tyler Sandlin proved tough for the Indians to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jake Slinker helped Northeastern's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Enis was a passing and rushing force as the Golden Falcons beat the Bulldogs.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Centerville's Tyler Weaver and Austin Hall have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Weaver has thrown for 1,100 yards this season, while Hall has 18 catches for 429 yards. Kelsy Kirkland from Northeastern leads the league in rushing with 1,285 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Mike Roeder's team takes on Tri. At the moment, the Knights are in first, while the Titans are in sixth.
