They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-54 walloping at the hands of Ridgeway. Melrose lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being William Carver, who scored 20 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Sanders Jr, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and seven assists.
Even though they lost, Melrose smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeway only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Brian Carter Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with four blocks and two steals for Ridgeway. Carter Jr. has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marlon Mcshane, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Melrose has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-10 record this season. As for Ridgeway, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 21-5.
