The Liberty Lightning lost against the Kennedy Cougars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Liberty was beaten by Kennedy 71-42. Liberty has struggled against Kennedy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Liberty's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gage Kampman, who scored two points. Kampman has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kennedy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Liberty will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 11:30 a.m. on January 6, 2024. Kennedy will be home for the holidays to greet Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Kennedy likes a good challenge.
