The El Paso-Gridley Titans will face off against the Prairie Central Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on El Paso-Gridley, who comes in off a win.
El Paso-Gridley took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Midwest Central. The Titans not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.
Mason Vandegraft made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, El Paso-Gridley let Owen Adams and Elliott Toth run wild. Adams scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Toth scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Adams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Prairie Central was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, falling 12-2. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Prairie Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Puttkamer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
El Paso-Gridley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Prairie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
El Paso-Gridley's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. El Paso-Gridley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Prairie Central, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will El Paso-Gridley continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went El Paso-Gridley's way against Prairie Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as El Paso-Gridley made off with a 15-6 victory. Will El Paso-Gridley repeat their success, or does Prairie Central has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
