Chariho was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They came up short against  the East Providence Townies, falling  3-0. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing  3-1 to the Townies when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Chariho was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made East Providence work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 26-24,  25-16.
 Abby Tiernan paced Chariho's offense, picking up five kills. Tiernan got some help from  Olivia Lowell and her six assists. Lowell was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with five aces.
Chariho's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for East Providence, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Looking ahead, Chariho will head out on the road to  challenge  Coventry  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for East Providence, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Prout at 6:30  p.m.  on October 8.
