With a playoff game on the line, Clinton rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kinston 64-12 at home. Fans of Clinton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Clinton can attribute much of their success to nydarion blackwell, who threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and Josiah MClaurin, who gained 204 total yards and six touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jakarrion Kenan, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Beddingfield sidestepped James Kenan for a 18-16 win.
Beddingfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samuel Finch, who threw for 74 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Desmond Wooten and his 83 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Beddingfield's win.
Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Beddingfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Everything went Clinton's way against Beddingfield when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as Clinton made off with a 39-18 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Beddingfield's Malik Woodard, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
