The Bothell Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Hazen Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bothell is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Bothell had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Skyline on Monday. The Cougars blew past the Spartans 6-0. Six seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Gus Meyer and Carson Herrick were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Meyer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Herrick didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Meyer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Meyer got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI, while Herrick went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Rheaume, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Cam Wallace was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Hazen didn't have quite enough to beat Woodinville on Monday and fell 4-2. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Troy Paternoster was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Hazen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bothell, their record now sits at 5-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Bothell has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Hazen struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bothell's way against Hazen when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Bothell made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
