Cedar Ridge and the Vipers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Cedar Ridge Raiders will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vandegrift Vipers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Cedar Ridge didn't have too much trouble with the Mustangs on the road as they won 66-52. The win was all the more spectacular given Cedar Ridge's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Mustangs are ranked 69th).
It was another big night for Peyton Dulin, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sam Fielding, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vandegrift narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Dragons 51-49. The win made it back-to-back wins for Vandegrift.
Cedar Ridge now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Vandegrift, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.
