The Great Lakes Academy Gators won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent, and things went their way on Thursday too. Great Lakes Academy was the clear victor by a 33-8 margin over Varsity Opponent. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-3.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Lakes Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emilio Jauregui-Sanders, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Bandish, who scored six points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Great Lakes Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for Varsity Opponent, their defeat was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 272-1030-2.
Great Lakes Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Varsity Opponent will head out on the road to square off against Autaugaville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Autaugaville is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
