Larimore extended the longest winning streak in A Region 2 this week by beating Midway/Minto, 40-20. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Park River/Fordville-Lankin took down North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rock Lake/Rolette/Wolford] 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Larimore's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. P J Peterson threw for six yards and Hunter Trosen had six yards receiving. On the ground Peterson chipped in 155 yards.
Jake Peterson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Paul Peterson's team bested the Mustangs. The 5-foot-10 defensive back recorded one fumble.
Midway/Minto's Logan Vaudrin and Nick Schmitz have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Vaudrin has thrown for 36 yards this season, while Schmitz, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has two catches for 36 yards. Peterson from the Polar Bears leads the league in rushing with 693 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Larimore takes on Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon. As it stands, the Polar Bears are in first, while the Hornets are in fourth.
Larimore led A Region 2 in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Adam Fortwengler's team. Peterson in the win.
