Ludlow has gone a perfect 10-0 against Dayton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Ludlow will be playing at home against Dayton at 5:00 p.m. Ludlow will be strutting in after a victory while Dayton will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Ludlow earned a 9-4 win over Villa Madonna. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Miller Reed was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Reed was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Deakon Reed was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Dayton is still winless after their matchup against Calvary Christian on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Greendevils have suffered since May 9, 2024.
Chad Nickell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Dayton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Ludlow's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Ludlow took their win against Dayton when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0. Will Ludlow repeat their success, or does Dayton has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
