The Annandale Atoms were the 44-36 winner over the Justice Wolves when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Annandale lost to Justice on the road by a decisive 64-45 margin on Wednesday. Annandale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Annandale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ava Sewall, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Susan Aburish , who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Annandale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Justice, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annandale will take on Lewis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lewis is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Justice, they will head out on the road to face off against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
