The La Jolla Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 85-72 victory over Clairemont. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
La Jolla was led to victory by Lance Braga and Michael Contreras. Braga dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Contreras scored 24 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Braga scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Vaz, who scored eight points.
La Jolla's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Clairemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Jolla's road trip will continue as they head out to face Point Loma at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Clairemont, they will take on San Ysidro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. San Ysidro is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
