Cassville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Webb City Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cassville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Webb City is ranked 147th).
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Cassville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to Springfield Catholic.
Meanwhile, Webb City's game on Tuesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were the victim of a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of Rogers Heritage. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Webb City has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Webb City got a solid performance out of Barron Duda, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Duda's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Johnson, who scored four points along with three steals.
Cassville's record is now 3-3. As for Webb City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Cassville was dealt a bruising 73-45 loss at the hands of Webb City in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Cassville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
