Softball Recap: Parsippany Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Parsippany won the last time they faced Academy of St. Elizabeth and things went their way on Monday too. The Redhawks put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-2 victory. The Redhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Arianna Zajac spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Nicole Coughlin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Freire, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Parsippany was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Parsippany's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-5. As for Academy of St. Elizabeth, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Parsippany will square off against Lenape Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Academy of St. Elizabeth, they will take on Wallkill Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
