Baseball Recap: Roswell Has No Trouble Against Goddard

Roswell made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Goddard, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Coyotes blew past the Rockets 7-1 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Coyotes have posted against the Rockets since March 12, 2022.

Luke Lynn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has become a key player for Roswell: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Davian Dominguez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Roswell's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Lucero, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Roswell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Goddard, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rockets beat Roswell by a score of 11-1 on Friday.
