The Ord Chanticleers will square off against the Yutan Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ord walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over Mitchell. The victory was nothing new for Ord as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Ord had a senior duo take command as Trent Mccain gained 245 total yards and four touchdowns and Dylan Hurlburt threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Mccain's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards.
Meanwhile, Yutan's and Oakland-Craig's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Yutan turned on the heat in the second half with 21 points. Yutan blew past Oakland-Craig 28-6. The win was familiar territory for Yutan who now have six in a row.
Derek Wacker was his usual excellent self, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Smith was in the mix too, providing Yutan with two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-2.
