Brighton got a great performance from Wilder Strong as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Strong has posted since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayes Raulston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Jonathon Ellis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline got themselves on the board against Green Canyon on Wednesday, but Green Canyon never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Riverhawks, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jackson Christensen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ridgeline got a massive performance out of Luke Banning, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Ridgeline's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Brighton, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brighton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
