Simla is 10-0 against Byers since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Simla Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Byers Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Simla's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Simla is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Monument Academy 91-4 back in December of 2024. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 39 points or more this season.

Simla's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kylie Maranville, who went 7 of 8 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Carlee Cox, who went 8 of 11 en route to 17 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Maranville is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Easler, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Byers entered their tilt with Wiggins on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They managed a 42-37 victory over the Tigers. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Byers' win came from a few key players Simla will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Allie Pelton, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joclynn Rector, who put up six points and four steals.
Simla's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Byers, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Simla has been crazy accurate this season, having nailed 49.4% of their shots per game. It's a different story for Byers, though, as they've only made 34.6% of their shots this season. Given Simla's sizable advantage in that area, Byers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Simla took their win against Byers when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 51-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simla since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
