The Cassville Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 59-33 loss at the hands of McDonald County. While losing is never fun, Cassville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while McDonald County is ranked 84th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonald County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlee Cooper, who scored 15 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. Dakota O'brien was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Cassville and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for McDonald County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Cassville will head out on the road to square off against East Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Newton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for McDonald County, they will be playing at home against Neosho at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neosho is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
