The Interlake Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the Cedarcrest Red Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Interlake came out on top against Sammamish on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Saints never let the Totems get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The game was the first time the Saints have beaten the Totems on their field since April 29, 2019.
Albany Aponte (2027) made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Indigo Joseph (2028) was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Lexie Cisneros (2029) also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Interlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Cedarcrest entered their tilt with Highline on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 29-16 win.
Viola Ewing and Paityn Craig did most of the damage at the plate: Ewing fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5, while Craig fired off two home runs and six RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Kyle Watson was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Interlake's record now sits at 11-5. As for Cedarcrest, their record is now 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Interlake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cedarcrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Interlake suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Cedarcrest in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
