Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hayward). Everything went their way against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies on Friday as they made off with a 26-4 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Farmers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Riley Norman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Norman was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Gianna Cruz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and five runs. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Sega, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Hayward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Lorenzo only posted an OBP of .464.
Hayward's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for San Lorenzo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-17.
As of now, neither Hayward nor the Grizzlies have any future games scheduled.
