It was a good run, but The Summers County Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Clay County 48-42. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Summers County was outscored by Clay County in the second.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clay County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Collins, who threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Collins hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Ayden Brown, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Summers County's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Clay County, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Summers County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clay County will be playing in front of their home fans against Braxton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
