The Bogue Chitto Bobcats had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 78-63 win over Loyd Star. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colby Terrell, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Terrell posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Yarborough, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Bogue Chitto's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Loyd Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Bogue Chitto will be playing at home against Wilkinson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilkinson County is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Loyd Star, they will head out on the road to challenge West Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
