The Colerain Cardinals fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Harrison Wildcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 51-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Colerain in their matchups with Harrison: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Luke Rogers, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for Harrison. The game was Rogers' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Donovan Mckain, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Colerain bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Harrison, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colerain will challenge Sycamore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sycamore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Colerain in Ohio (Sycamore is ranked 24th, while Colerain is ranked 523rd). Harrison will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Talawanda at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
