The New Albany Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 77-48 win over North Pontotoc. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-10.
Dee Johnson was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assists. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emanuel Tucker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory was the fourth in a row for New Albany, bringing their record for this year to 9-1. As for North Pontotoc, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Albany will take on Senatobia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Senatobia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 69th, while New Albany is ranked 17th). As for North Pontotoc, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pontotoc at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Pontotoc is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
