The Charleston Catholic Irish lost against the Chapmanville Regional Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Charleston Catholic took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chapmanville Regional.
Charleston Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mary Rushworth, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, and Sarah Rahin who scored 16 points along with three steals. Rushworth scored a full 45.5% of Charleston Catholic's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aurelia Kirby, who scored four points.
Charleston Catholic's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Chapmanville Regional, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Charleston Catholic will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tucker County at 7:00 p.m. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Scott at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
