Andover is 8-2 against Chelmsford since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Golden Warriors will head out to take on the Lions at 4:45 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Andover 2.7, Chelmsford 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
If Andover beats Chelmsford with ten runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Golden Warriors walked away with a 10-6 win over Beverly on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Golden Warriors, who have now won three matches in a row.
Zach Pawlowski looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Chris Jaillet was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Norris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chelmsford). They blew past Lowell 15-0 on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.
Andrew Yen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Ryan Hart and Jack Keyo did most of the damage at the plate: Hart went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Keyo got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Aidan Brackett also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Chelmsford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Andover's record is now 6-1. As for Chelmsford, their record now sits at 7-4.
Andover was able to grind out a solid win over Chelmsford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
