Basketball Recap: Mosley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lovelee Holley and Faith Alvarado

If Mosley was riding high fresh off their 58-14 takedown of Bozeman last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mosley Dolphins lost to the Chipley Tigers at home by a 52-37 margin on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Dolphins in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Mosley had strong showings from Faith Alvarado, who posted 12 points, and Lovelee Holley, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points. Holley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. McKenzie Rimmer was another key player, putting up two points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mosley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Chipley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addyson Suggs out in front who put up 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarayah Hogan, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points.

Mosley suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-5. As for Chipley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Mosley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-42 defeat against Bay on the 16th. As for Chipley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-29 win against Blountstown on the 17th.
