The Caroline Cavaliers waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 46-39 win over Chancellor. For Caroline, this counts as revenge for the 62-58 loss Chancellor walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Larell Edwards, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Seth Hunter, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Caroline pushed their record up to 7-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Chancellor, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caroline on the road again on Saturday and play against Hopewell at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Chancellor, they will head out on the road to face off against Culpeper County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Culpeper County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
