The Sauquoit Valley Indians couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Adirondack on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sauquoit Valley in their matchups with Adirondack: they've now lost six in a row.
Adirondack's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juliana McGrady, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Green, who scored 12 points.
Sauquoit Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Adirondack, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Sauquoit Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frankfort-Schuyler at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Adirondack, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mt. Markham at 7:00 p.m.
