Putnam kicked off their season on the road  on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt  a  41-14 defeat at the hands of the Sammamish RedHawks. The Kingsmen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  34-0.
 Sammamish got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jivoni Patton out in front who picked up 66 receiving yards and two  scores, and also rushed for 53 yards. Another passer making a difference was  Theo Molnar, who threw for 66 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Putnam will take on St. Helens at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Sammamish, they will face off against Newport - Bellevue at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
