The Carey Panthers were the 68-57 winner over the Valley Vikings when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Carey took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley on Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Carey lost, one person who can't be blamed is Preston Wood. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Wood is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Stockton Sears, who scored 11 points.
Carey's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Valley, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carey will take on Raft River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hansen at 7:30 p.m. Hansen is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
