The Morton Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Forest by a score of 35-28 on Thursday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Morton was the better team in the second half.
Zach Ealy had a dynamite game for Morton, throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Ealy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Xavier McDonald also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Morton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Morton will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Columbia will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
