This season hasn't been kind to the Blacksburg Wildcats, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 72-45 loss at the hands of Broome. Blacksburg lost against Broome in their previous head to head last Monday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-49 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Blacksburg lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Ziyon Harris. Despite the final result, he scored 10 points. Christian Federico was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Broome was led to victory by Lance Henderson and Ja'Coreyun Broadus. Henderson scored 18 points along with 5 assists, while Broadus scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was Henderson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Hill, who scored 11 points.
Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Broome, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Blacksburg will head out on the road to face off against Clover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday. Broome won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on November 28th.
