It was a good run, but the Jarrell Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. The contest between Jarrell and Salado wasn't particularly close, with Jarrell falling 54-37. Jarrell has not had much luck with Salado recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Jarrell saw an underclassman step up: Aniya Taylor scored 18 points. The match was Taylor's 20th in a row with at least ten points.
Jarrell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Salado, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Jarrell will finish 2023 at home by hosting Jones at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Salado will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lago Vista at 12:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
