The Cyprus Pirates's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Granger 84-47 on the road. Cyprus' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cyprus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stone Tia, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tia has scored all season. Koli Fosita was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Granger lost, one person who can't be blamed is Stephen Kpaleh. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Gukeisen, who scored five points.
Cyprus' win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Granger, they bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Hunter the next time they take the court. Cyprus will host Hunter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Granger will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
