The Gonzales Apaches will look to defend their home field on Friday against the La Grange Leopards at 7:30 p.m. La Grange took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Gonzales, who comes in off a win.
After only seven points in their last game, Gonzales made sure to put some points up on the board against Smithville on Friday. Gonzales came out on top against Smithville by a score of 45-33.
Gonzales got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Duty out in front who threw for 183 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Rocky Gallegos, who rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, La Grange's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Giddings by a score of 23-21.
Gonzales now has a winning record of 4-3. As for La Grange, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Gonzales was taken down by La Grange 50-18 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Gonzales, C.J.
