Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peetz). They breezed past the Belleview Christian Bruins to the tune of 57-20 on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.
Peetz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Gentry led the charge by going 6-for-15 on her way to 13 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Gentry a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Nataleigh Kalb, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 13 points and seven boards.
Peetz smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belleview Christian only pulled down six offensive boards.
Belleview Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Faith Rosiere, who posted six points in addition to 22 rebounds and six blocks, and Wisper Nedelea, who scored 13 points and five steals. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Anh Nguyen also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.
Peetz's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Belleview Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Peetz wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-39 defeat against Briggsdale on the 7th. As for Belleview Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-33 loss against Front Range Christian on the 4th.
