Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Ashland Grizzlies, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 34-13 walloping at the hands of Scappoose on Friday. Ashland's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Kayden Gardner threw for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Scappoose got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cayden Baker out in front who rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Eli Harrah made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Scappoose, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Ashland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Scappoose will take on Cascade at TBD on Friday. Cascade is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
